I find the Sentinel ("one hand" model, the one without clip) comfortable in hand, when the blade is out, or in, that's not the "problem"... it's a thin knife, so if you have a big hand or at least long fingers, the movement to take out the blade is a little bit tricky compared to the Soldier 08 o the Rescue Tool, those two fill your hand in a way that you feel that the movement to switch out the blade flows and it is continuos, with the Sentinel i feel that to make the switch movement i cant grab the knife as firm as the Soldier o the Rescue ones so the movement (to me, to my hands size) does not flow in a continuos rapid movement... that's the only thing to say, and its not a big issue, in fact i happy with it, bu if it was 3 o 4 mm wider, im pretty sure that i wouldnt have nothing to say, i repeat, its no a big problem its more a issue that comes from the blade size and my hand size, may be you found it totally comfortable, you just have to try it, it worths its value anyway.

Fast, sharp but not so easy...

Exactly what I wanted. Super light and perfect for opening the boxes when moving house and then eventually camping.

Comme d'habitude, une excellente lame, et un couteau vraiment très chouette par sa sobriété. Le plastique du manche a une sorte de grain, qui fait qu'il n'est pas brillant comme les couteaux rouges moyens, mais tient bien en main. La résistance de la lame est un brin trop forte pour l'ouvrir d'une main en toute sécurité, d'autant qu'il est assez fin, donc il a une tendance pas très rassurante à se refermer sur un morceau de majeur ou d'annulaire si on essaye de l'ouvrir d'une main. Et ça n'a pas loupé :)

I wanted a simple knife to open and flatten boxes with - this fits the bill. It’s light, and lies nicely in the hand. The contoured plastic handle has a very slight texture to it which is pleasant, and comes equipped with small tweezers and a toothpick. Blade is sharp out of the box, and I like the peace of mind the lock brings. However, closing it with my right hand is a bit difficult because you have to pull the lock towards you before being able to close the knife. This is easier with my left when you can push the lock away from you, then close the knife. One-handed opening is smooth though. All in all, a good, well-priced simple knife I would recommend to others.

Great one handed knife.

Hmmm, have used Swiss Army knives for literally years man and boy! I’ve also been very happy with all my purchases until now although the build quality is still there the knife feels flimsy and certainly isn’t one hand opening ( I realise knife is stiff when new!) to stiff to open with one hand (I’ve big hands) and is still to tough to open one handed, but my biggest gripe is the lock is on the wrong side!! You have to put the knife in other hand to unlock! So calling it a one handed knife isn’t exactly correct in my humble opinion,,,,,,,,,

Sentinel one hand

Disappointed with this knife. I specifically wanted a single handed opening knife. Whilst it is technically possible to do so, I have to alter my grip halfway through the process making it awkward and I have dropped the knife once during the changing position. 
The closing method is counterintuitive for a right handed person with the release bar requiring upward not downward pressure which would be the more logical and easier way to shut the blade. 
The blade itself is fine as I would expect. 
All in all a 3 out of 10.

There is a cheap feel to the handle at first but you can tell it's by design, the weight and balance is first rate. I'm really impressed with this knife. My only gripe is the locking mechanism digs into the forefinger slightly. It is a good knife though - the weight and balance is awesome (I'm repeating myself) really good knife 5 stars.

Simple & useful

Counting what functions I used every day of my Swisschamp I discovered that I used the knife the most, so 5y ago the Sentinel OHT was the logic choice. It has great dimensions and weight, goes unnoticed in my pocket, but comes in handy several times per day. The one hand feature is a must for rapid deployment of this tool. The toothpick is a must for me. As backup with more tools I have my 20yo Swisstool (use it also as a hammer, still looks like new) in my backpack. Maybe I'll look into the Sentinel OHT clip, because it will have a fixed place in my pocket.

Excellent to take camping

For minimalists who need a blade for more serious tasks. The blade to handle ratio is excellent. Locking works perfectly. One hand opening might be difficult if you have small hands, but no issue for me. The knife is very light and slim, perfect for minimalist EDC.

The opening mechanism is comfortable and easy. Price is simply unbeatable. It's thin, therefore extremely light, the knife is hard and sharp. A less sharp edge is so much safer, and actually better. An easy locking mechanism. Tweezers and toothpicks are practically a basic right to have by now. The grip is great.

It's a good pocket knife

Als ich das Messer bekommen habe, hatte ich sofort ein gutes Gefühl als ich es ausgepackt hatte was sich auch bestätigte. Das Messer liegt gut in der Hand, schneidet scharf und ist recht leicht. Zum Öffnen leichter als zum Schliessen. Der Feststellmechanismus ist zutraulich und wenn man abrutscht haltet er.

I've had this knife for about 5 years and it has been a pleasure to own it. I've mostly used it indoors as a tool. Not having a sharp tip makes it much safer to use then a regular folding knife. It barely shows any wear signs after a long period of use. I definitely like this knife very much.

Excellent indoor knife

i just did buy mine.after opening it a few times, feeling the "feel" of it, feeling the edge on it (which is a razor) and engaging the lock mechanism a few times, i walked over and dropped my usual pocket knife in the junk drawer and this has now replaced the Marine auto-folder that ive been carrying for 3 years.i have several victorinox items and every time i get a new one, it impresses me just like the first one.noone makes a better knife, its proven fact.
